How to make Paneer (Cottage Cheese)

Paneer or Cottage chees

Paneer is one of the most exotic ingredient in vegetarian cooking. over the years its usage has increased considerably in India. Varieties of food items (with or without garvy) can be prepared with Paneer.


Ingredients

Full Milk
Lemon / Venigar / Citric Acid
Water



  • Boil the milk and add a few drops of lemon juice or vinegar. After few seconds, the milk starts curdling. Now strain the curdled milk using a strainer.
  • After straining out the liquid part from the curdled milk, using a muslin/cotton cloth, press and squeeze out the excessive liquid from whey (curdled milk).
  • Place a heavy weight on the top of the cloth so that the whey gets pressed firmly on the plate. Let it rest for about 50- 60 minutes over the plate.
  • After 60 minutes, the mixture will be turned to a delicious and a tasty homemade Paneer.
